Sky cut me off early

I Fell behind my Sky payments in the month of April. I told them off this and they did a promise to pay. I was sadly unable to pay until a week after that promise had run out.

On the 15th May 2008 I made a payment of £130. I asked if this would cover all arrears up until my due date on the 26th May. I got told yes. I was left with a balance of £60 which I pressumed was what was due on the 26th.

Today I have been cut off. So I ring up and get told the £60 is still owing from Feburary 08. I asked why I was not told of this at the time. They could not answer me. I then got told they are looking for a minimum payment of £22 which I paid on my card.

They tried to reinstate me but then said they needed another payment of £17. I refused to pay as I dont get paid until the 30th and cant afford it. I had to set up a direct debit then to get my viewing back on.

Why if my due date is the 26th are they asking to clear my balance today?

Do I have grounds for a complaint?

Cheers

I think they have a right to ask you to clear your account before they are required to reinstate services. After all its you that's defaulted. I think you should complain about them not giving you the correct information though.

Re: Sky cut me off early

My gripe is the fact they insisted I would be ok now until my due date. Thats what I am angry about. I can afford the sky packages now. I was just going through a hard time of swapping jobs.

Re: Sky cut me off early

I would certainly complain that you were cut off when you were told that paying £x amount would continue your account until a particular date!

You might get a free month or something!
