TV Networking Setup

Hi I'm new on here. I don't know a lot about what is available but have heard a few things about the way things are going.

I'm currently with VirginMedia but am looking into alternative ways of setting up my TV network.

What I have:
2 TVs in two different rooms.
1 standard Pace cable receiver
Apple Powerbook G4 (with Broadband & WiFi)
Xbox 360
PlayStation 3
PSP

What I want:
Basic (Virgin Media style) pack plus Skysport 1, 2, 3
Extra box
Recorder/Hard Drive
Preferably HD Ready

At the moment I have just the standard box so I need a second for the other room. I've been considering the Virgin+ box, but am also looked into Sky+. I presume if I want Skysports I need either Virgin or Sky!?! I've been looking into other receivers with recording functions or a hard drive but I don't think they can pick up Skysports. Am I right? Is there an alternative to Virgin/Sky boxes?

Also, I have an Apple Mac laptop with WiFi connection and was wondering if there is a good way of getting TV through the internet yet.

I've read about PlayTV for the Xbox and playing it through the PSP which sounds good but I think it only has FreeView channels so no Skysports.

Sorry if this a bit vague but I would appreciate some good ideas on setups.

Cheers!
