Re: Sky Broadband Help

The router is a built in adsl modem too. You have it delivered to your door, you follow the guide/ instructions and connect it to your telephone line by the colour coded cable included in the box via the filter included in the box. You then hook an ethernet lead from the router to the pc and power up. Your PS3 can connect to the router without issues.
The router for ADSL connections is slightly different to one used for cable connections, the ADSL router will often have a built in ADSL modem. The Sky BB router has built in ADSL modem, router and wireless connectivity as standard, you will get a card with a WPA key printed on it (all capital letters, no numbers) and you simply type this in when prompted if you are using the wireless connection. Any problems and Sky BB tech support is open pretty much 24/7 and is mainly UK based up till 11pm.

For the sake of spending £3 - £5.00 on hosting - buy hosting - that server, will have to be have to be on 24/7 - have to be secure, running everything you need and will use a fair bit of lekkie.

Re: Sky Broadband Help

It can be done but is something which may be beyond you Bappy, Sky IPs are dynamic and will change whenever your router reboots and you would need to use a dynamic dns style approach to it plus you would need to forward your internal IP using rules in the router.
Best to take the easy route to be honest.
