Tech Guys ... pfft my ass!
Bought a TV a few years ago along with a warrenty.... I never use them so this time I figured I would seeing as a button on said TV was broken.
I called up their phone line, reported the problem, gave them the model number, make etc and was told someone would come out to me in two weeks time.
Two weeks time is today. In he walks, looks at the TV and says 'hmm, yeah that will need a new button, ill get one on order'. With that he leans on the top of the TV to get the numbers he needed from the rear of the unit (remember I had already done all this) and promptly puts a nice big dent in the top of it!
Well done you useless ****!
So now im left with a seriously knackered TV over a tiny button fault.
ARGH!
sorry needed to vent

And are they fixing or replacing your TV? Compensating you for going without?

Re: Tech Guys ... pfft my ass!
Tried to get a new TV out of them but they wouldnt budge. Makes me sick that people make fraudulent claims day to day yet I, in all honesty, report a minor fault and get stung like this...
Might dig out a pot of paint to drop on it.. that or throw the cat at it.
Oh yeah, they did offer to repair it - muppets.
I hope he comes back to collect it so I can jump on his bonnet.

Re: Tech Guys ... pfft my ass!
well he should be covered by indemnity insurance as he is working in peoples homes. I would call them and say you will be making a claim in the small claims court for damages caused by their employee see how they react to that. Also inform them you will consider contacting the local press watchdog and anyone else you can think of to give them a bad name. Also point them in the direction of this forum as mud sticks and bad press isnt in their best interests. Also state if they refuse to sort you out you wish to contact head office and make sure you get the postal address of an organ grinder and not a monkey. In fact it may be better to actually go and confront them with this speak to a manager and do not get aggressive but be assertive

Re: Tech Guys ... pfft my ass!
Send them a letter by registered post (NOT recorded...it's useless). In the letter, outline the damage they have caused and that you hold them responsible. Enclose a photo of the damage if possible, and even better a photo of the TV before the damage as well, if you have one.
Obtain an estimate to repair the damage, which in all probability will be uneconomical. Enclose a copy of this. If you can get the person giving the estimate to do a short letter confirming in his opinion the TV would not be economical to repair, enclose a copy of that too.
Be polite in the letter, don't let off steam, but make it clear at the end that you are looking for adequate recompense and look forward to hearing from them.
If you hear nothing, follow it up with another letter, enclosing a copy of the first, and requesting a response within 14 days.
If you still get no joy, send a third, enclosing copies of the first two, advising you will refer the matter to the small claims court if you hear nothing within 7 days.
If at any of these stages they reply declining to compensate you, simply write back explaining that this is not satisfactory and requesting the matter be looked at again by someone higher up the complaints chain. If you still get no joy from THAT, write advising you will refer the matter to the small claims court if the matter cannot be resolved.
Be persistent but polite, and keep copies of all letters. Send all letters registered post. I'd be very surprised if they don't back down well before the court stage.

Re: Tech Guys ... pfft my ass!
Must say a big thank-you to you all for such excellent replies. I will take all of this into account and give them until Friday to call me back with a repair date.
After then....... I'll be going for their danglies!
BTW I got a naughty slap via PM for censoring 'Twit'...
