Sky - Moving House
Hi,
When we move in Jan, can I remove the Sky dish and just re-install at the new house?
Or do I have to notify Sky and they charge £40 for "moving / install new dish" at the new house?
Or we could just cancel the contract and get a new one when we are in the new house.
Cheers
Lee

Re: Sky - Moving House
Could cancel and get a new install or just call house moves and discuss it with them, if you do a house move your account stays live and if anything happens in the future you can easily play the "we have been with you for x years but if things are not sorted we will leave" card.
Quote:
What to do when moving home
If you’re moving home, all your existing equipment must be taken with you, including:
- Sky box.
- Viewing card.
- Sky remote control.
- Sky Broadband box if applicable.
- All internal cabling and equipment.
A Sky engineer will supply a new dish, LNB and external cabling and fully reconnect your system, complete with a 90 day warranty. However, if there is an existing dish and cable at the new property, the engineer may make use of any of the existing equipment.
You’ll need to call the dedicated Home Move team on 08702 40 64 84 to let us know you are moving home and to provide us with your new address. Don’t forget to obtain all consents before installation and ensure that you have an active BT line in your new property before installation.
If you are moving with Sky Broadband, your existing service must be cancelled before you can order it at your new home, which can take up to 10 days. Please call us around 10 days before you move home so that we can arrange for your television services to be set up at your new address and cancel the Sky Broadband service.
Please remember that, because you have moved home, the services we will be able to offer you may differ to those you previously had. Availability of Sky Broadband packages will be confirmed when you call to place your order.
If you’re moving from the UK to the Republic of Ireland, or vice versa, you may experience some small differences in your viewing. However, you will still receive the same channels you previously subscribed to.
If you're moving outside the UK, Isle of Man, Channel Islands, Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland, we're sorry, but you won't be able to continue receiving Sky TV because the service is only available in these areas.
To discuss your move further, please contact us:
- UK Call 08702 40 64 84

Re: Sky - Moving House
Thanks Paul - found that page the other day when searching for the info.
Just wondered what was possible - and what other subscribers have done.

Re: Sky - Moving House
I payed fully for my Sat stuff so I got a rench undid the bolts in the wall and took the dish as its mine. The min contract I was tied to was over, I own it now.
At the new location.
Got an old git to go up the ladder and drill the holes in the wall and reinstall it. ( cost varies )
Done.
Added bonus still got the old BBC and ITV channels on sky 9xx channels so you can keep up to date, if you move county as well.
just tell SKY your changed address and new Phone number.
