Re: Sky TV: Extended Warranty

my friends first 12 months ran out in december and since october she has had numerous calls and letters saying her warranty has run out and she needs to insure her box and dish etc even though she has refused every now and again they will call or write back again to try and convince her to take the cover.

Re: Sky TV: Extended Warranty

Slightly off topic but hope the following helps.

Bought a sky+ box some time ago, the 12 month warranty had expired, I have not taken out the extended warranty, I have had the usual telephone calls and letters.

Recently had issues with the box, now appears following an engineer visit that it was the hard drive.

I emailed sky and explained the issue I was having, and basically asked them to cancel the service, because I was out of the minimum contract.

A day later had a telephone call in response to my email, the guy asked if apart from the issue with the faulty box was I happy with the service, I said I was, because prior to that we have had no issues.

He said they would send out an engineer free of charge, if they could not fix the problem they would replace again free of charge the box.

I am now using a new sky+ box which was sorted with very little fuss.

Re: Sky TV: Extended Warranty

I suppose Sky can be nice when they want to be then

My parents have had sky and then sky digital since it first became available and the sky digital box (a pace) was crap but it lasted 15ish years until last year when they were upgraded to sky+ for free because the box died
