Re: Can a Virgin dish recieve Sky?

errm yes?
I should elaborate, for the sake of being clear I told a fib. Im not sure what dish it is and Im away from home at the mo but Ive got a chance of getting a sky box thingy and I dont want to buy it if theres a chance it wont work with my dish. Whatever that dish is.

Thanks again and sorry for the confusion.

Re: Can a Virgin dish recieve Sky?

Assuming it's a digital dish and is set up properly then you can plug a digital sky set-top box into it and get a card from here....
http://www.freesatfromsky.co.uk/
To get the freesat service.

It might be, but dishes can be re-aligned.

They use the old style dish which old Sky analogue customers used to have because they are pointed at the same satellite position that Sky used to use!
Astra 1 (and Hotbird as well) are used by Polish sat providers, as well as German and a lot of other languages.
I've been to a couple of Polish Satellite providers, one in the middle of nowhere in an old school building. The downstairs was pretty much derelict but the upstairs was spotless with all the compression equipment in air conditioned equipment rooms.

If it's a really old dish, you might want to check you're receiving all the channels that you should since older LNB's(the bit on the arm at the end of the dish) wern't originally designed for the frequency range now in use.

Re: Can a Virgin dish recieve Sky?

Yeh, i had freesat. Lots of Mr sheen flying in his airplane.
I have a sky dish, took it down though but may put it back up. One question though, I want to put it up somewhere else, is it possible without having to get an engineer to configure the box>? |I have an Amstrad box.
