Now you hear it, now you don't

Hi Guys

Posted this query 10 days ago but unfortunately received no replies. Ever the optomist thought I would try again as it is driving me CRAZY! However, have nasty suspicion that nobody else has had this problem. Still, any Freeview experts out there please feel free to comment as, like a drowning man, I'm ready to clutch at any straw!

Freeview Digital ITV channels. Experiencing sound dips. Sound fades for a second then comes back. This continues throught the programmes. Very noticable on Emmerdale Farm/CoronationStreet. Other programmes not affected at all. Watching same programmes on Freeview Analogue ok. As not all freeview channels are affected can't see how it can be a problem with tv or aerial. Unless my tv is a soap snob!

Re: Now you hear it, now you don't

Check here http://www.ukfree.tv/txlist.php to see transmitter info for your area
Quite often you will find the mux for ITV channels is at a much lower power than BBC mux this could cause sound dips and pixelation. should be resolved when they switch off analogue and can increase power to digital signals
Also read this http://www.ukfree.tv/fullstory.php?storyid=1107051058 explains transmission modes and reliabillity of signal.
