Re: Play TV?
Well, this thread has been in existance 9 months now. Funnily enough, Play TV have yet to provide any actual proof they are a legit TV company. I haven't even seen an article in Broadcast (who would normally be all over a "revolutionary" new TV platform). I have yet to see a mention in Digital Spy (who also would be all over a new TV platform).
Now, assuming Play TV actually are a legit company, they need to do three things: - Fire their PR company. After all, this company has failed to get it's client onto any of the normal publicity channels. So far, the various trade mags (Broadcast etc), consumer mags (Home Cinema Choice, Which etc), media websites, TV stations and Radio stations have all failed to cover this. Clearly the PR company is crap.
- Assuming they actually have licenced channels, put a list on their site, and ensure those channels put details on their own sites.
- Produce actual proof of the system. Sadly, although I love this forum, a couple of random people posting on here about how good the service is, isn't proof.

Not an extensive list, but their Full list of channels link goes to http://www.playtvuk.com/launch/packages/
A grand total of 9 channels in five packages (the family one is free with the entertainment one). Total cost around £49.95 a month.
I realise there probably are more channels, as if the above were true, Play TV would be the most expensive subscription TV service in the country (if not the world). Ok, they apparently have 700 internet tv channels, but are these any good? They could be brilliant, but they could also be bad clones of the old NTL local channel (which was so bad it was embarassing). You can have as many channels as you want, but if you don't like any of them, you are wasting money.

Re: Play TV?
Well folks, I have just spent a very enjoyable hour and half reading this entire thread, its had everything, great characters, a gripping story, a few baddies and a will it, wont it finish. Credit has to go to the two "leading men" brundles and LSainsbury, for a almost Columboesque investigation into the "baddie" PlayTV, it was very reminiscent of the good cop, bad cop routine, Ill leave the reader to decide who was who.
Then of course we had the baddies henchmen, those new posters who appeared out of the ether to say how great PlayTV was, these were ably led by "angelabbie18" who threw us all at first telling us how great her new stb was, about the 700 channels and even watching Die Hard 4, for free!! Well once again I thought maybe Ive misjudged PlayTV, maybe its for real [even though not one of the posters could string together a coherent sentence] but then once again our two hero's put me back on track by exposing "angelabbie18" as a fraud!, well done boys
By this stage the roll out date had been put back so many times it was looking like death for PlayTV, until over the horizon a savior arrived "Will21", apparently battalions of engineers were holed up right under my nose, in Hove no less, I must have been driving past these white knights daily and not ever realized, toolkits at the ready, under starters orders waiting for the off. But no disaster strikes , yet again, it seems that according to a late entrant, "alnero02" that our two hero's, "brundles" and "LSainsbury" have cracked the case by bringing the entire PlayTV adventure to a standstill. I'm just a tad concerned about all those engineers still holed up in my home town though, hopefully they can find gainful employment with VM.
Ill end by saying great show, and thanks to all who made this thread possible.
