Re: Play TV?
Any chance of a channel list?
For instance, does it have
BBC1,2,3,4,
ITV1,2,3,4
Sky Channels (1,2,3, Sports, Movies)
MTV Channels
5live, 5USA
Paramount Comedy
E4, More4
And any others that you can list.
This would help others who are considering Play TV.

ANy chance of a list, at least of the main ones?
Also, craig5201, any chance of quoting who you are actually replying to? At the moment, it looks like you are just quoting whoever posts above you?

Re: Play TV?
I've been following this thread for a while now as i got "the call" a while back and registered for info but never recieved anything, strange as you would expect a new set-up to swamp you with marketing.
It strikes me as strange that the people that have play tv consistently cannot spell properly and claim how good the package is. What about everyone else?

Re: Play TV?
Combine that with the fact that so far, they have only posted in this thread.

You'll have to forgive us for all being a bunch of sceptics - we'd like to believe but so far it all seems too good to be true and there is no evidence to back it up. My wife won't let me post the results here but for those with access to the Equifax credit check system it makes some interesting reading for both Play TV and the company they've just been "merged" into - Global Digital Broadcast (actually that one is apparently worse!).
So you'll forgive me for not rushing to give them access to my bank account.

Re: Play TV?
angelabbie18: I'm not going to comment on the dyslexia comment as I feel it's an emotive subject, but as I'm a Sky customer are you calling me stupid? I pay £21pm and it's fine for what we want.
The problem with PlayTV is that they are a know rather iffy company and the technology they use to deliver (broadband) is going to be its downfall.
As you know most ISP offer "unlimited" downloads which are capped using a FUP (Fair Usage Policy). What will you do when your ISP writes to you telling you you have exceeded you usage for the month? It's normally 3 strikes and you then get shaped or kicked off completely.
What will you do with you 700 channel piece of electronics then as it will be unable to communicate with the Play IPTV servers?

angelabbie18, please don't be upset - people didn't know your personal history, and unfortunately tarred you with the same brush as some other posters who have been "big upping" Play TV, but were unable to supply any detailed information.
To that end, as you have the box and channels, could you answer my previous post (attached above)?

Re: Play TV?
I did not mean to offend anyone it just seems like a coincidence, thats all.
I look forward to seeing / hearing some real info on the package rather than - it's great, you should get it.

Re: Play TV?
Until they update their website I will regard any post here with a pinch of salt.
I think I read somewhere that they only launch in December 2007. The only information on their website is:
"Full channel list coming soon..."
regards to all

Re: Play TV?
rotfl ... This thread has given the best laugh I've had all week
Oh dear oh dear .... I'm sorry if this is going to upset anybody ... but for the sanity of all those people clinging to straws, does nobody else (I've read this from page 10 or something) think it a little funny that this angelabbie18 has never made any other posts on the forum ever, works in a pub and then amazingly the same day her (assuming sex here, I know ... please forgive me) AMAZING new tv service is installed, the only thing on her mind is posting on here to put ppl's minds at rest
Not to mention the "Exciting" channel line up ... that includes great PPV films like Die Hard 4.0 ... what a load of old bs .... Now I'm not accusing anyone of being a Play TV employee, I think it's somebody playing a blooming good joke ... though if that is the case, for the likes of Craig I don't think it's that funny!!
Seriously Craig and others, cancel while you can ... this is just never going to work ... they for one (a company without any tangible product thus far) have taken money over an extended period of time from people, without so much as even 1 mailing!! Get out now, and report it to OFCOM ... Also, how can this lot really offer sooo much more than BT Vision (the company that controls the UK bb network)?? it just does not add up ... and if you look at it realistically, you will see the same ... sorry, but that's my opinion!

Re: Play TV?
I'm wondering what IP these posts are coming from as they're all specifit to this thread:
http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/se...archid=1987839
I'm sure the team will have looked at that but I'm still curious.
