Re: Play TV?
Thats a wide net you have cast there, in which case I would have to say yes.

If ofcom are aware of Play TV, then I don't need to.

Which is why the net was "cast wide" - the answer " yes" does, I am sorry to say, make any positive comments you make on their behalf (in the absence of independent corroborating evidence) rather suspect.

That says an awful lot - and certainly nothing good.

OK.. So, a company comes along, promises an interesting service, undercutting everyone. Apparently manages to licence a whole load of content without anyone noticing (and without meaning to sound arrogant, I am in a position where I would hear of someone licencing that much content - I work with people who have contacts in the television industry).
They then create a website that is curiously light on details of what they offer, and start missing launch dates while apparently taking money.
You register on this site, post only in this thread, and post messages saying how great the service will be, and how they are creating a new box, admitting you are somehow linked to the company.
Not casting aspersions here, but can you see why people are a little suspicious?

Re: Play TV?
Hi,
I'm still waiting for my 'Callback within an hour as playtv personnel are busy on other calls'..this was on Friday afternoon...it' s now Monday night. No more info & another £2.00 on my phone bill. Guess the launchdate of Oct 1st is a fake too? Anyone at PlayTV looking at this site..tell me how I get my £90 back until such time as you can deliver what you promised???? Anyone out there had a call from 'service 'yet to arrange installation? I'm fascinated & frustrated. can't get digital TV here even though I am in the area designated to be the first to be switched over so my 2 HD / Freeview TV's are a waste of money so far!!!

I'd get out before you lose even more money...there too much that's unknown about the company and service.

Wendyk - Have you spoken to your bank about the DD? My wife reckons you should still be able to talk to them and have it rejected under the DD guarantee even now. That would be the best and quickest way to get your money back - they'll then go and have words with PlayTV and politely (and probably eventually not so politely) ask for their money back from them.
