Get the Direct Debit cancelled...you've started to pay for a service which you are not even getting yet!

Re: Play TV?
Craig, in a previous life, were you "Chemical Ali"?
" It may have got lost in the post" is one of the three oldest excuses of all time, along with " We'll keep your application on file" and " Of course I won't...... best stop now, the 3rd one isn't suitable for a family forum".
They shouldn't be taking money for services that aren't "live" yet, no matter how unspecified they are.

To do so is theft. No other way to put it.

Re: Play TV?
This sounds like it's getting worse and worse for people who have signed up.
Craig - You said you were due to have an install date by the end of September. Have they given you one yet?
Wendy - I'm guessing you're in the same boat as Craig and not only have they taken money from you when you don't have the service they haven't even told you when you will get the service. As LSainsbury says I'd start with cancelling the direct debit at the moment. If they didn't inform you it would be taken and what for originally you may also be able to claim this back through your bank under the DD guarantee but I'm not entirely sure on that bit under these circumstances.

Re: Play TV?
Just out of curiosity, has anyone heard anything else about PlayTV?
The second launch date was apparently 1st October yet the website is still on the old pre-launch style - no channel lists, etc.
Just curious as to what these guys are upto beyond taking money without providing a service.

Re: Play TV?
Play tv is a sister company of satellite direct uk based at ford lane, ford near Arundel. They have invested quite heavily into this product and it is definately not a scam. They are in the process of employing engineers with the right skills to do the job and it is this process which is taking time. The set top box they supply, they have had designed from scratch.

Sorry, but if they are taking money with providing a service, that is theft. Yes, they need engineers, and they may be designing their own box, but they should have done this BEFORE THEY STARTED TAKING PAYMENT.
Until I see proof otherwise, I will continue to believe this is , at best, a scam, and at worst, theft.

Re: Play TV?
But are you in anyway connected to the firm, or it's allied companies? (such as supplying services, or related to an employee of the firm or it's allied companies).
