Re: From Virgin to Sky
You're in a 12 month contract so you will have to pay the remainder of the 12 months if you leave early.

You could try saying that as they have not fulfilled their side of the contract you consider it terminated, or best contact your local trading standards department, every area has one, and see what they advise.
The only other way is if vm decide to increase your tv charges, under those circumstances you would be able to just give them 30 days notice without penalty.
Five times in one month? dire.
Had my sky+ almost two years now, not had any issues.

If you go on the Sky website today, you will find that the install costs for a Sky+ box are £159, and SkyHD are £359 (if you take BB Max, 6 mixes, and Sports/Movies).

And if people take a look around their local shopping malls they will find sky+ boxes for £49 with free installation.
Indeed it has been reported that the sky+ box will become the standard free box.

Re: From Virgin to Sky
Someone on here posted the "Invite a Friend" details whereby if you're not already a customer with Sky, you can phone them up quoting a reference number and get a Sky+ box and installation for free too.

You can cancel i rang on monday 11th june to say i wanted to cancel, when they asked why i said because i would have to pay 10p a min for technical support from 1st july when i signed up in march it said it was free,so they have broke there T&C also i have never had a telco in my flat so i would be paying twice to call them & im not doing that.lady said i could get out of contract after 30 days so im geting a free sky+ box & install on 24th june.

Good luck to you
My understanding of the t&c's is that you can give 30 days notice regardless of how long you have been with vm if they increase the cost of the part of the package that you want to cancel, ie if you have bb, phone and tv with them and they increase the tv package you cannot cancel the whole package, only the part that the increase has happened on.
I mean if you have managed to get out of it then fair enough
