You will be waiting a long time as I don't respond to ignorance and flippent remarks.

And speaking as a forum-crawling nerd, can I ask what's wrong with being VM-friendly? Flaming from the sidelines changes nothing. Free-thinking, constructive engagement makes a difference. Of this we have proof.

Nothing wrong with being VM friendly , but being a Moderator I would have though you would have an unbiased approach

Interesting... it was perfectly acceptable for a former member of the CF team to be pro-Sky, but when someone is pro-Virgin it's not allowed...

So you don't know then, you could have just said it.

That's the thing - I am not pro-Virgin - I've already said in this thread that Virgin isn't without faults. But at the same time if someone or a group of people are going to mock VM and paint this wonderful glowing picture of Sky, I'll enter the debate say, hold on a minute, Sky aren't better either and I am entitled to my views without people jumping on the 'Well he's obviously a pro-vm, so he is bound to say that anyway', bandwagon.

I dont really care at all never have watched the channels never will.
I just dont think there is any way for Sky to behave how it has for the benefit of those customers who do find the content 'interesting'.
With the performace on Skys channels there is absolutely no grounds for them to make an increase (particularly as much as it was) for the logical business mind.

It's happening in just about every thread about VM these days.If one so much as suggests one is happy enough with the service one gets one is labelled a fanboy or a VM worker. If one points out the fallacy in someones argument against VM you are a fanboy. If one questions the need for yet another thread bashing VM you are a fanboy.
Reminds me about the 'clique' accusations we used to get.
I would also like to point out that I don't think I can take another Sky thread either.I think TBR started this thread in a mood of devilment knowing how it would turn out.
Frankly if I see another macho mine is better, bigger, stronger, cheaper, more expensive thread it will be far too soon. It's getting boring to visit these days.

I cant imagine why there would be acusations of a clique on cableforum the way some "users" seem to always get together in support of each other in various different threads.
Also, you may want to check post one and perhaps issue a retraction of your accusation.
Personally though - I love this place - great debatery - although some seem to take things way to seriously, which is cool.

I'd like to further add that I have never said Virgin Media runs a perfect service and everything is all fine and dandy with them. I know they have their faults and a number of customers go through hell with them, no service is perfect, but its when some people come along and paint this wonderful picture of Sky being angels and then have the nerve to call VM.

You know mick? we live in a democracy?
As with television, if you do not like what is showing do not watch.

You will not get the figures, they are probably buried under the retention figures.

Virgin Media yesterday said that it has lost nearly 50,000 customers this year and expects to lose more as its high-profile row with BSkyB begins to have an impact.
Despite spending £25 million on rebranding, the cable group suffered a 46,900 fall in customers to 4.8 million in the first quarter.
Steve Burch, chief executive of Virgin Media, cautioned that there would be further falls in customer numbers over the next quarter as the result of the row with BSkyB, its pay-TV rival...
But in the quarter to the end of March, Virgin swung to an operating loss of £15.3 million.
The group suffered a haemorrhaging of telephony customers. Mr Burch blamed continued pressure from the “free†offerings launched by Carphone Warehouse and BskyB. He hopes refreshed tariffs and “bundles†will help the company to recover.
He conceded that Virgin’s heavy focus on broadband and television over the past year had led it to take its “eye off the ball†in the fixed-line telephony market.
In contrast, Sky’s recent success in winning a higher than expected number of new subscribers was in part attributed to its spat with Virgin.
Virgin insisted that the rest of its television content would make it a key player in the sector, even without Sky’s offering.
Karen Darby, founder of the price comparison service SimplySwitch.com, said: “Despite spending £25 million on a high-profile marketing campaign, Virgin Media hasn’t got off to a flying start.â€
