Help someone please!

Ok here goes. We decided to buy a freeview box (Goodmans GDB6) for a Sharp Aquos portable TV (model LC13S1E). All the connections between the box and the TV are hooked up fine since we have the same set up in the spare bedroom with a Toshiba TV and everything works fine there - absolutely no problems in setting up at all.

However its a whole different ball game with the Sharp TV. Although you can hear what's being said on the various channels there is just no picture. If anyone's experienced a similar problem and could offer some advice it would be much appreciated.

Re: Help someone please!

Have you ruled out the new STB or the leads you are using by swapping them with the setup you know works OK? Is the STB transmitting a recognisable picture format for the TV - composite / RGB or something like that?

Re: Help someone please!

Yes I've checked it on another TV - as soon as I plugged it into another TV sound and picture came up on the AV channel. None of us can figure out why it won't work on the Sharp TV - quite frankly I give up!

Re: Help someone please!

You have not per chance anything connected to the sharp tv with a s-video lead in conjunction with the scart lead from the goodmans?

Re: Help someone please!

I think in the settings of the goodmans there is the option to define scart connection type, try changing it to composite (you will probably have to connect it to the other tv to do this) then reconnect it to the sharp.

Thumbs up Re: Help someone please!

Turned out the scart lead was faulty and replacement has solved the problem. Thanks to those who responded.
