EDIT: More to the point, how the hell did they manage to get an engineer round the next day? Normally takes a week at least...

Re: sky are scum
Well - to be fair, it's not Sky are scum, it's some of it's customers..
Having said that. it would be hard to tap into someone's cable television on Virgin Media..

I don't think he actually says that it's a Sky engineer - I assumed it was the neighbour?

Personally I don't see the point if you're going with Virgin, but each to their own, I suppose

Re: sky are scum
from what you say it doesnt matter if your leaving sky or not. its your dish, not theirs.
the excuse "he thought that my dish wasnt in use thats why he used it" is a load of crap... if he didnt know it was in use, why leave the old cable connected? and why was he touching equptment that is owned by you?
Im not sure, but there is something seriously wrong with that, seriously wrong!!!

Re: sky are scum
Sounds like the installer isn't working for SKY but as a freelance install for the other Flat (yellow pages scum). Sky would have sent a dish as well as the box for the install, Check the area and rubbish for another dish , have you be talking out loud to any neighbour lately about leaving sky.
In this house were I live, the flat below had Sky installed and Now there are FOUR dishes on the one wall of this house.
