Re: Freeview with skybox?

I don't know what you mean by "yellow house card", but suspect that it may be a means of getting some channels that you aren't entitled to. We'll stop that discussion here.

As I understand it your Sky subscription ends, but sky customers having purchased (unlike VM where you rent) the STB, means you are entitled to keep using it. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but free to air channels over satellite, don't need a subscription, so shouldn't need a card to be purchased.

Re: Freeview with skybox?

As I understand it if you have a card (Even one that's been cut off) you will end up with the freesat service.

http://www.freesatfromsky.co.uk/

If not you can buy a freesat card from the same site. (which is £20 if you already have the equipment)

Re: Freeview with skybox?

I think you are wrong to assume that the yellow house card is getting channels you are not intitled too I am pretty sure its legit actually but thats why Im looking into it so please lets not finish discussion as im trying to find out about my options!Im not looking to get channels i am not entitled to as i got all the channels i want with my shiny new v+ box just trying to make the most of the ugly dish which may become redundant.

I hope a am right it just that my father in law used to have one im sure and he wouldnt do it if it was not legit

Re: Freeview with skybox?

a quick suggests most of the yellow cards are priced in $, thus are something for use over the pond rather than in the UK.

They are UK activated Sky cards that have BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and five in the first five slots on the EPG. It also has BBC3 & 4 and ITV 2, 3 &4 on the EPG. You can also pick up other FTA stations such as Sky News and a lot of shopping channels.

They come up pretty frequently for sale on eBay...

also says you can buy them from sky???
still confused mind
