Electronic Program Guides

I'm just doing some research on on EPGs

I'm just wondering if anyone could point out any websites or resources where I could find out more information about how they work.

E.g the technology and companies behind them.

I've found a little bit of information on Wikipedia:
e.g: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_program_guide
and about Guide Plus from Gemstar:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guide_Plus

Specifically I'm interested in how the information is put into the database (I assume its done by the broadcasters themselves) and then how this is centralized.

Re: Electronic Program Guides

BDSI and Tribune are just two of the players. Sky do their own.

Re: Electronic Program Guides

Yeah I think NDS do Sky's EPG.

Does anyone know how the information gets into the EPG in the first place and what the processes and procedures are for that?

Re: Electronic Program Guides

Theres a company that looks after Skys EPG system, but I can't remember who it is. NDS look after the system downstream of the EPG data, but they don't actually do the EPG gathering system.

EDIT : It might be BDS for the epg for sky.
