Arrow Is my router in the way?

Hi,

I suspect the answer to this question is: Yes. But I'm going to check anyway.

I have been supplied the 10MB "upgrade" twice now. Both times I was advised my modem (Motorolla Surfboard 4100) would reset. But if it didn't, then I was to switch off the modem for a "couple of minutes", then switch it back on and I would be on 10MB.

Unfortunately it hasn't happened like that. My cable modem is plugged into my router WRT54G which is obviously connected to my main system.

Is this the reason for the "upgrades" being unsuccessful? If so, can I just plug the cable modem into my main system, reboot it and I shall be "upgraded", or do I have to call tech support to re-send me the configuration file?

Thanks.
