Yup, and on the mini's hold down menu and select until it resets and when the apple logo appears hold down select and previous, the apple logo should then reverse and then let go and the service menu should appear. If you have an ipod that starts up and shows a disk error or grumpy ipod icon then you can also try putting it into Disk Mode, reset your ipod, then hold down Next and Previous when the apple logo appears. This can cure ipods that won't mount on your computer and allow you to update them and restore them via USB. Oh and what cant the service menu do?
