your dads probably right and ntl will swap out you modem no probs for a new ntl 250 (careful they are tiny). They will want to do this anyway as your modem will have been upgraded anyway during 2006 as part of thier speed upgrade program. They will be wanting as many as possible swapped out before that starts.
