Factually incorrect article then Hugh , however I'm presuming they must be the first ISP to have a 100gb optical network however someone more in the know may clarify this.

That'll be on their backhaul network though, you wont see anything like those speeds at the end user.

And here I am stuck on 2x10Gbps.

Back on topic though. Whether JANET is an ISP or not is irrelevant, Sky are claiming to have the first 100gbps optical network in the UK, period, and that's just plain wrong, period.

Rather than launching the service and then playing catchup on capacity.

Too many bottlenecks, eg. their linx peering capacity per end user is less than other isps. Also their reach is certianly not the best.
