Openreach 80/20 Line Checker
Openreach have announced that from 28th January they will be upgrading the line checker to show the new 80/20 speeds on your line.
Also from 6th Feb the trials will end and go into pilot stage
This info relates to BT Infinity and any other ISP offering the similar product.

Think they have updated the line checker for the new 80/20 speed. Appears that they are showing only a maximum of 40Mb for the down speed, but showing the full 20Mb upload speed if you're capable of getting it. check yours...

Before mine said 28.9 Down and 8.6 Up now it says 35.7 down and 5.9 up. To be fair i always had about 5.9 to 6 up anyway.

I wonder why mine only quotes 35.9 down. i guess i will never get anywhere the 80Mb product, and i got such a poor upload compared to others too.

Because you are approx. 600 metres line length from the cabinet.

I may be that from my local telephone exchange, but the cabinet is just at the end of my street and my street is not long at all, a lot less than 600 metres.

Someone posted this speed test on another forum
It shows almost a 20Mb upload speed, can anyone else confirm BT activating the 20Mb upload on their line?

IDnet have put in to increase the line speed on my FTTC line with them to 80/20. Should be completed within next 24 hour. Currently seeing 39/13 compared to 37/8. Speed checker says I should be seeing more on upload so shall see.

(P.S. I've heard BT might try upping to profile 30a at some point, meaning 200mbps download, or 160 under their current marketing strategy)

Haven't asked BT Infinity to up my speed yet, and not sure it's possible to *just ask*. Is there a process for them?
