New Property Advice

Hi,

Hoping for some opinions more than anything, as I appreciate there's no way of you fully knowing!

I'm moving into a new flat in under a week (renting), and unfortunately the landlord is away and can't be contacted. I've been trying to find out what is available in the flat in terms of phone lines, TV, etc. The first problem is that we can't get hold of him yet.

The second problem is that the flat is a newly built property and hasn't yet been registered as a property, and therefore it doesn't show up when companies such as Sky, VM, even Royal Mail, try and find the place. So I can't ask them whats there, or what can be there!

The flat has the following points in the living room:

Phone:

Ethernet:

TV:

(I didn't have a good look, but very similar to those)

Do newly built block of flats HAVE to have an antenna on the roof? Will this just be terrestrial? Chance of it being freeview?

As I said, just after some opinions as it's obviously impossible to tell from the points.

I'm worried that I'm going to be in a new flat over Christmas with no phone line, no TV and no internet.

Thanks,
Sam

Re: New Property Advice

Go to a neighbouring flat, knock and ask them. I'd imagine the tv socket links to a rooftop aerial, so at least you should be able to get freeview if nothing else. You'll need to bring your own freeview box of course.

Re: New Property Advice

Normally it's communal aerial and communal sky dish and you have to pay a selected company to be connected to the dish. You might want to check your paperwork as normally if it is a communal system it will state on there that you cannot have your own dish and must use a specified provider for any Sky tv you want.

I can see this is confusing. A now banned member went around spamming several threads (including this one) with abusive messages earlier today. Said member was banned, and offending posts removed. My last post in this thread was a response to the now removed post by said member.
