BT has announced plans to trial one gigabit fibre broadband in Suffolk and add 40 rural market towns to its current fibre roll-out.
Quote:
The government is set to provide £830m for firms willing to offer fast broadband services in rural areas, which it will provide "over the course of this parliament and the next".
BT said that if it was to "win funds on that scale" it would be able to provide fibre to 90% of the UK.

Not the best example, was released as a commercial product and being deployed.

It is of course a yawn-fest though, trials are for headlines.

Re: BT to trial one gigabit broadband

I believe they see it as an infrastructure investment, which will provide appropriate returns.

Re: BT to trial one gigabit broadband

20% VAT off a few houses and a couple of farms in villages across the UK aint gonna get that lot back in a hurry lol also rural areas that get limited BB are likely to be paying more due to lack of LLU than anyone else meaning while their BB is slower they will be paying more VAT than those with the likes of SKY and Talktalk
