Help required ASAP

Hey,

Firstly, sorry if this is in the wrong place. :$

Basically, my laptop isn't connecting to the internet, however my mum's laptop and my iPod Touch does.

I'm with BT and have the Home Hub.

My laptop is a Toshiba and is on Windows Vista.

The laptop says how there is only 'Limited Connectivity' and that a 'network cable is unplugged'.

This happened to me yesterday, and a couple of werks ago, but the issue resolved itself. It hasn't this time.

Any help is appreciated, but please don't go too technical..

Luke

Re: Help required ASAP

Hello Luke. Welcome to Cable Forum.

Could you clarify if you connect normally with a cable or via a wireless connection.

Re: Help required ASAP

Simplest thing first. Have you tried powering off and rebooting the Hub?

Make sure your laptop is off. Restart the Hub and try connecting once it has stabilised.

Re: Help required ASAP

I haven't tried that actually.

Will give it a go once my mum has finished a Skype chat on her laptop.

Again, thanks.

Re: Help required ASAP

if that fails uninstall and reinstall or update the drivers for your wireless adapter.

Then if that fails try a different wireless broadcast channel

Then if that fails create a new user on the laptop and log into that and check there sometimes there can be conflicts causing no connection
