Sky Connect >
I can honestly say after 3 days of using this service... What a pile of ( Enter extremely harsh language)
A constant speed of 0.33kbs instead of a healthy 8mb's
Im not even bothered about Improving it anymore
Just want to know if I go back to Virgin Media, will I be classed as a new customer or existing and be offered new customer deals?

Re: Sky Connect >
Did you not look around or ask about sky connect? Its complete cack as they won't pay BT for extra bandwidth. Leave your contract as soon as possible quoting the poor performance, unless you can get LLU don't touch Sky as Connect is ...... excrement.

Re: Sky Connect >
That is the same problem people have in some parts of London, but in the same parts, NTL pulled out and now people have to put up with dial up or really slow broadband.

NTL didn't pull out of anywhere that could take broadband from them as far as I'm aware. If you have a link to this information that'd be most appreciated

Re: Sky Connect >
Thought I might just just post this kind of stuff to hopefully stop people making the mistake a lot of people have by trusting sky and their award winning broadband.
As far as MAX/UNLIM goes thats another story but Sky connect Listen up people that are even thinking of touching it.
1) My BT Master socket is 100% fine and in perfect order
2) I should recieve the stated speed of 8mbps (Except at peak times)
3) I am wired via Ethernet
4) I recieve a speed of roughly 2mbps when not throttled
Tonight: With throttling this is my average speed rendering it unstable and unable to load basic web pages (Its took me almost 5 minutes to load the reply to thread box)
Modem Stats: Modem
ADSL Firmware Version A2pB023o.d20h
Modem Status Up
DownStream Connection Speed 8128
UpStream Connection Speed 448
VPI 0
VCI 38
Speed @ 21:25pm
Will edit this after 12am to show you the uncapped speed.
Considering I was told from a Sky tech that I'm in an area that just about gets the best ADSL connection under the 20mb package, Thats absolute crap
Lucking I have Virgin coming on Wednesday to reinstall 50mb and a working connection.

Re: Sky Connect >
From those stats; you are syncing at 8MB fine, so the problem is likely at the exchange end

Re: Sky Connect >
I couldnt get the LLU package due to it not being in my area
And I've sorted everything with Virgin and I am classed as a new customer.
50mb ftw
as for it being an exchange issue, today I have something amazing to report so it really cant be an issue and its really just sky at fault.
For the first time!!
 Hey presto!

Re: Sky Connect >
I used to have sky`s "connect" service and would comment as follows....
- out of the box it is, ....well pants!
pop over to "http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/" they will usually fix it for you!
they even have unofficial flash fixes for skys buggy router
mine went from worse than yours to a nice and steady 10meg
good luck

You're not on Connect if you get 10Meg.
They are also planning to increase the bandwidth available to the Connect service later this year.

Re: Sky Connect >
This is the forum bud http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/
They have some excellent guides on there, a few of the people work for Sky (similar to here) and will get things sorted via pm if needed.
A guy called User05 was very helpful to us recently with an e-mail syncing problem.
