BT homehub accelerator how does it work

As title really, how does this BT accelerator work? was speaking to a mate at work who said that he gets 6mb but with this new fangled face plate he gets an extra 1.5mb a sec DL speed. How can this happen whe you are restricted to speed with line length & quality.

Very basically isolates the ADSL signal from interference that can be caused by phone extensions within the home, thereby improving line quality.

Aser is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: BT homehub accelerator how does it work

You can get the same effect by disconnecting the unused orange wires in the socket.

Re: BT homehub accelerator how does it work

So if you have no extensions I presume it won't make any difference?

It can do, if no extensions you could also disconnect ring wire to ensure there are no issues.

It basically is the same as plugging directly into the test socket.
