T-Mobile 'MiFi' - 3GB, fair usage or capped?

Hi all,

I'm looking into the rather ropey internet access options for my new house...

T-Mobile MiFi - http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/bro...d/novatel_wifi - seems to fit quite nicely for giving two machines internet access, but it's limited to 3GB a month.

Is this 3GB cap, or 3GB 'unlimited with fair use' as all other T-Mobile data plans are - http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/mobile-broadband/mbb/

If it's not 3GB unlimited, I might buy a 'MiFi' adaptor on PAYG, unlock it and then get a T-Mobile pay monthly SIM from T-Mobile directly for £15 a month...

Cant answer your first question but to answer your last...
I'm pretty sure it wont work, most carriers don't allow mobile BB access through handset data plans. So though the sim may work you will still have to buy mobile BB access to use it through your MiFi.

Thanks for the reply. I was going to get one of the £15 Pay Monthly T-Mobile data plans, take the SIM out of the USB dongle and put it into an unlocked MiFi adaptor.

This will be a data plan SIM on T-Mobile so should work?

Re: T-Mobile 'MiFi' - 3GB, fair usage or capped?

I use a three dongle and stick my phone card in it to use my free internet allowence, granted its rubbish, some sites wont even load
A speedtest gives 2.46 down and 0.94 up
But still crap, huge packet loss and ping is like 100 ,
Its great for checking email and browsing simple forums but thats it, you cant run several machines on one dongle, you may as well lick a stamp and post a letter.

That should work fine. Though I have heard you may have to ring up with your devices MAC or IMEI number before you can use it, but that could just be on certain networks.
