O2 - phone, UK & intl calls, 20mb bb, £22.50/month
Great deals coming from O2 in March
20 meg broadband with no download limits
Phone line rental
Unlimited Free UK calls
Free international calls to 20 countries
Free 0845 and 0870 calls
£22.50 for O2 customers (or £27.50 for anyone else).
Obviously not going to be available for everyone, although the 8 meg service is a very good price too at £20 (or £25 if you're not an O2 customer).
Certainly puts Virgin's prices into context (and BT's too for that matter)
More info:
http://blog.o2.co.uk/home/2010/01/o2...-in-march.html
Also first two month are free as well I think

Yeah, my local o2 store has been advertising this lately. The sales guys all know that the exchange doesn't have LLU enabled for their 20Mb service yet they're still allowed to advertise it. Wrong IMO.

I would be tempted by this, but going from 20meg virgin media cabled connection to a adsl one would be a sad switch. Would save at least £25 a month though. We do a lot of international calls.

It means Turkey Machine would only be on their upto 8mb service, as their local exchange isn't part of O2's BB Network (which allows the upto 20mb service) but the Sales people are still advertising it as a 20mb service as available to those customers.

Wonder if my exchange can support 20mb? The international calls makes it very tempting.

Chuck your postcode into Samknows.com and find out.

Woop. It does it seems. No word on the likelihood of me reaching any where near those speeds though.

How far away are you from your local exchange Damien? If you are under 1km away (cable length, not straight line distance) then you may get close. If you are over 2.5km away then you might only get like 5mb.

It's ADSL2+, so not all bad news. You'd get a slightly faster speed than with ordinary ADSL!

Will Virgin Media match this deal? (well obviously they can't do the free 0845 or free international calls) but I meant price.
Was quite happy with Virgin a while back, but all the constant price rises are really adding up now.
