Talk Talk rip off...

My mate is 7 months through a 12 month contract with them and the router they supplied which was Belkin died... There was no connection what so ever wired or wireless.. I told him to ring them and he did which was a week ago and today i saw him and he said "its all sorted now they sent me a new router".

He then went on to tell me that they charged him £55 for the new router and added it onto his next bill!!!.... What a rip off!!.

Re: Talk Talk rip off...

They shouldn't have done that (unless they've damaged it or haven't returned the old one)

http://media.talktalk.co.uk/sites/Ta...F/Complete.pdf

Part of 4.6 We will also repair or replace the Modem if it becomes faulty during the first eighteen (18) months after we supply it to you, but we will not replace any faulty Modem if you are responsible for the fault (including without limitation as a result of your failure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions or your mis-use or alteration of the Modem without our approval). In that case you must pay for a new Modem in order to receive the Broadband Service.

4.7 If we send a replacement Modem, you must return to us the faulty Modem (including all cables and software that came with it) within thirty (30) days of receipt of the replacement Modem. You accept that we will charge you for the replacement Modem if you do not return the faulty Modem (including all cables and software that came with it). We will accept proof of postage as proof that you have sent us the faulty Modem. You must keep the original box and packaging for the Modem in good condition and ensure that the Modem is stored in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. We will refund the reasonable cost of returning the faulty Modem to us by post. At your request we will send you a pre-paid returns envelope to return a faulty Modem to us.

You have been told that the is a case for arefund but your friend does not like to make a fuss, I would say £55 is reason enough to make a fuss, go around get hin to call them and pass the phone to you and get his money back.

They are quick enough to take it off him, so try to get it back.

Well...in which case he deserves to lose his fifty-five pounds. Okay, TalkTalk should not have charged him, that is clearly wrong, but if he can't be bothered to "make a fuss," or even just ask for it back, he has more money than sense.
