Re: BE* changed my router login password

No different from VM removing SNMP access to modems without telling us.

Realistically it is their router that they lend you to use with their service. Whether they let you at it or not is their call.

Re: BE* changed my router login password

This started happening weeks ago according to one of my friends. Funny really, they couldn't change his because he wasn't using the Be* router

It's not so much that they changed it. they even gave you the option of not letting them be able to. but a lot of people either had blank emails stating this fact, or never received an email at all.

Why should they not be able to? It's their kit after all

They can do what they want, but please tell me so that I don't start breaking windows thinking that it needs formatting.

Not that I would panic like that, but there's a percentage that probably already have.

Ok Ben. it's all my own fault for not getting an email and not looking in the forum to see whether they have any plans on changing my password for my router in the future

Re: BE* changed my router login password

As I said I got an e-mail without any issue.

Would you have rather they left the router insecure so people could hack into them?!

I'm sorry but for once I'm with Gary on this one..And just because everything is hunky dory for you is no reason to take issue with him for understandably being a tad tetchy about it.

Thanks Maggy. I feel like a victim sometimes for just opening my gob.
I need to go back and see Dr Fellowes at this rate

Re: BE* changed my router login password

But no matter what Be* did with this there would have been complaints.

As far as I can see they did their best to advise customers what they were doing

Understand that - they screwed up somewhat - however given that they don't supply email services some customers were bound to be missed

Maybe a letter in the post wouldn't have gone amiss?
