Free international calls
All my friends in Europe have broadband/phone/tv packages that give them free international calls (possibly not everywhere, but certainly within Europe). I can't find anyone in the UK who offers this - Virgin offer an international package, whereby you pay an extra £1.50 for international calls (but still have to pay for the calls! And more expensive than Skype - what's the £1.50 for???). O2 doesn't seem to offer phone, BT and Orange also just national.
Any suggestions, or am I living in the wrong country?

Re: Free international calls
Thanks for the suggestion, but Vonage charge US$25 for unlimited calls to 5 (count 'em) European countries (and not the ones I want), Skype charges £3.95 for 20 countries...
And in any case, I need the broadband and the line rental, too.

Re: Free international calls
Orange then... (can't believe I just said that!!!)
Orange DSL Max product includes an Orange hub with VoIP telephone socket, They have international calls free and I last used it when the mother-in-law was touring Australia (was a shock to her to get UK phone calls to each HOtel for update )

Are you going to tell me who...?

Hee, hee, hee, just called Orange to find out about their broadband, got the standard menu, "push 1 to buy a package, push 2 if you're already a customer," etc. I pushed 1: "Thank you for calling Orange. Goodbye". Now that's what I call customer service!

I tried to talk to a person the other day by mashing the keypad. Orange's telephone system is broke completely. You just don't get to talk to a person.
