PlusNet

Morning,

I've just moved away from TalkTalk - well, placed the order with a new supplier. I've chosen PlusNet - their live sales agent, was online at this time and so far, they waived the delivery fee of their kit. So far, so good! Here's to having an ADSL connection, without constant drop!

Re: PlusNet

You will be glad you swapped to PlusNet, I have been with them since 2003 for dialup and they have been top notch. They are very very good, can rate them more highly.

Re: PlusNet

That's one reason I am still with them, they seem to be very customer focused.

Re: PlusNet

Yes but the owners are BT which means they take all the profit and they supply Plusnet with internet and phone.

This is clever of BT, what they have done is, taken over this company, and will sell it off once they reach a certain amount of customers, the catch is, plusnet will become a virtual ISP and phone service and everything will be supplied by BT on a very long term contract to the new owners, BT will make millions from the sale of plusnet plus a lot more money from supplying the company with wholesale internet and phone!

And who knows, plusnet Vision in the future, maybe! Another brand to to disguise BT Vision to double the customer numbers.

Re: PlusNet

Well I can't say, I was impressed by the level of intelligence. Their "live support" is outsourced, granted understand why but don't like it - the agent, knew nothing about contention and or what a static ip was. They also, messed up my order, telling me, I hadn't asked for my line to be transfered, when the email says I have. Disapointed as they came with high reccomendations.

Re: PlusNet

I think you should escelate the problem up to Customer Services manager and see if you get anywhere. They also have a forum something like PlusNetters, link is on their main site, raise it on there, you never know you may get some freebies out of them

Re: PlusNet

TO be honest, I can't be doing with "people" that have no clue. I know it's harsh but i'm with TalkTalk at the moment and this service is bad enough, so I just want a stable service. Therfore, I've ordered with VM National service. We will see how that goes..

Err who do you think supplies Plusnet with wholesale services now, and has since the company started selling DSL?

http://www.btwholesale.com/

The Plusnet talk plan is a generic Wholesale service too.

And operate separately from BT and pay them accordingly.

Even BT's own ISP, BT Retail, 'pay' BT Wholesale for the services provided. Plusnet operate as if they are still totally separate, it's why they shape traffic and run economically even though they are owned by a massive telco.
