They'll change their minds when they don't have enough customers to make their business profitable

Re: Plug pulled on suspected pirates
I don't think they have to worry - they have a captive market

Re: Plug pulled on suspected pirates
I hope they cut so many people off that they go out of business then they will wish they didn't do this.
What is their customer base like?
"British Telecoms has no lines in the area, and with no other choice of ISP, the residents of Hull often have no choice but to use Karoo if they want an internet connection." - Well thats not good

Re: Plug pulled on suspected pirates
What a god-awful company. Their usage plans are disgusting too. I think they need to lose their monopoly pretty quickly.

Re: Plug pulled on suspected pirates
Once upon a time this Country had a monopolies commission, supposedly to prevent situations where unscrupulous Companies like Karoo can use their position to Bully their user base. Whatever happened to the Monopolies Commission? Abolished by NuLabour or what?
Hopefully Karoo's user base will give them a bloody nose by switching to BT. Poor souls, talk about being between a rock and a hard place.

BT doesn't exist in Hull - that is part of the issue

Quote:
On 22 August 1902, Hull Corporation (which later became Hull City Council) was granted a licence to operate a municipal telephone system in the Kingston upon Hull area, opening its first telephone exchange in 1904 at the former Trippett Street Baths.[1]
At the time, there were a number of such municipal telephone companies around the UK, all of which - with the exception of the one in Hull - were gradually absorbed in to the Post Office Telephone department, which was subsequently to become British Telecom (BT).
Hull's bid to renew its licence in 1914 was made conditional on the £192,000 purchase of National Telephone networks infrastructure. The council gave its approval, securing the future of the country's one remaining municipally owned telephone corporation.[1]
Hull has therefore remained an exception within the UK telephone network, being the only place in the UK not served by BT and is noted for its distinctive cream coloured telephone boxes and innovative services...

Re: Plug pulled on suspected pirates
due to the number of exchanges in Hull then you would think that most should be able to get 8mbit... or even 24... but nope...
my mate says that he gets 3meg if he is lucky and he lives 400 meters from the exchange.
KC is pretty poorly invested.

Re: Plug pulled on suspected pirates
Well it's one thing to chalk up on the list of reasons not to move to Hull I suppose.
