Best upload speed

Hi all

I'm currently with Virgin Media but looking for a different package that offers a better upload speed. I currently get 768kb on my 20meg package. I know the 50meg service only offers 1536kb and was hoping someone would know of a better offer out there.

Thanks for any help

Re: Best upload speed

Dependent on distance from the exchange of course.

But even then the standard upload is around 1.3Mbit/s

Re: Best upload speed

Personally I'd trade my 20mb for ten down and five up anyday, or instead of the 50mb service I'd rather 20 down and ten up, It seems to me these ever faster download speeds are just for bragging rights for some people.

Re: Best upload speed

I agree with frogstamper, a more even spread of up and down speed would be better than 50Mbits down and 1.5MBits up which is what VM have offered after handing in 30 days notice.

All we need now is the ISP's like VM to listen to what the people want rather than them sitting in there Ivory towers telling us what we must have and not giving us what we really want.

Re: Best upload speed

i agree, ive spoken on fone with Vmedia 10-20 times asking them why are u so tight with ur upload speed telling them im having problems onling gaming but they just apolagise & dont do nothing about it, im paying for 10mb and only get .47 up speed even if i got 20mb package id only get .74mb up speed wich is terrible.

i could get be 24mb with a choice of 1.3mb up or 2.5mb up wich is way better then Vmedia 50mb, afterall im a gamer i choose uplod speed anyday, but im only lodging at my parents house so i dnt really have much choice till i get place of my own which won't be a while coz no jobs out there

Re: Best upload speed

My mate in Sweden always made me jealous, when I was on VM's highest broadband at the time (2meg) I think he had 10 down and 8 up, while download speed is wonderful when you've got to upload 500meg of photos to jessops you're back to crawling again.

Re: Best upload speed

Shame these guys don't cover a bigger area.

Sheffield
