O2 Broadband

Well BT installed me a free line and i decided to go to another ISP. I am about 2km from the exchange so i wasn't expecting lightening broadband. To my suprised ive synced at 9mb down and 1.3mb up Played a few games of COD on my PS3 last night and was getting mainly 4 bars, sometimes 3, but it's still slightly better than what i got with 10mb Virgin.
Overall i am very impressed, my other hald has O2 phone so we got it for under £10 a month, £70 quidco and 3 months free! Bargain!

My service with Virgin was always stable and only went down once, for about 2 hours within the year i was with them, i rarely hit STM but the low uploads rates and the fact you could hit STM easily made it annoying and i had to be continuously cautious with what i downloaded.

All in all i am pretty happy, if BT didn't install the line for free then i would still be with Virgin, and maybe after my 18month contract i might come back, depending what happens with the internet packages.

Thanks to all for your help with any issues ive had, i will continue to be a regular lurker/poster.

Thanks

Ian

Re: O2 Broadband

2Km isn't overly far, as long as your line conditions are good you can still get a decent sync speed at that length.

O i know that, but thats straight line distance and the engineer told me the route the cable was going so i think it will be closer to 3km. Still with the quidco and 3 months free im basically only paying for the phone line for the first 10 months.

Re: O2 Broadband

Hey there !

Well I have been with O2 Broadband now my self abouts 4mths. I live abouts 4km from my local exchange.

I get between 10mb and 16 mb which it just depends. I do have old telephone cables in my flat. How ever with the over all speed and other stuff I have been very happy with it.

Its been good I use my Xbox, 3 pcs and one laptop for downloading. Like my self I was with Virgin and was being STM like no ones stuff.
