Installing AOL on vista

Hi,

A mate has asked me to help him install AOL software on his new vista laptop later on this week, I've got a funny feeling he has already had a go and run into problems. Has anyone had any experience of installing AOL on vista? I've have looked around and I'm finding a lot of people with issues and fixes.

Here's a couple I've found:
1. Stop with AOL 9.0 VR version and not go to 9.1 (problems with tool bar missing or disappearing) + there has been some mention of AOL 10 but I can't find it.
2. TCP Stack - disable TCP auto-tuning
3. `User Account Control enabled' + copy old version of AolPhx file from non-vista ready version of AOL and overwrite new one.

Any help on this matter would be gratefully received, as I don't really want to spend hours and hours on the phone to AOL support installing it.

TIA

Re: Installing AOL on vista

I have heard that AOL has not got Vista authentic drivers yet so maybe that is what the problem is.

Re: Installing AOL on vista

Update on the AOL install on Vista. After find the words like `aol, install, vista, looming and disaster' in the same sentence on a few forums, I didn't think it was going to be easy. But all went well,

I did find out before hand that most of the problems occur when you use the download AOL 9.0 VR directly from AOL, so I got hold of a AOL Vista ready disk before hand.

Sorted, my faith in AOLs rubbish software is restored and the 66 old fella who is the owner of the laptop is happy too. Bonus.
