Cheap fast broadband without landline
Hi everyone,
I live in the W14 area and it is not covered by Virgin Media.
I do not have and do not need any landline services.
I need fast internet only and do not want to pay extra for phone.
Is virgin going to dig any new fibre channels in the central London?
If not what would you recommend?
Thank you!

Re: Cheap fast broadband without landline
VM can't even afford to maintain their existing network so I would think the chances of them extending it are less than zero.
Your best bet is to get a BT landline plus Be Unlimited for your BB. Hopefully you will have a good telephone line and not be too far from the exchange.

Yallow, Id second the above advice, personally if I didn't have access to cable I would go for Be Unlimited, without a shadow of a doubt.

Yes, Me too. Be Broadband. Its much much better than Virgin - I have both. Will dump Cable asap when the contract runs out. Get Be and you wont be disappointed (pun) !!!!

Re: Cheap fast broadband without landline
May I add. I have tried Virgin XL and apart from early mornings, I had a slower speed with Cable than ADSL every time. I have downgrded to the M broadband speed due to not wanting to pay £30+ for a 20meg service when really it was slower than my ADSL service which cost only £18. So in my area at least.... Cable is NOT superior in any way compared to ADSL or ADSL2+. With Be Broadband I get 8-10Meg, with Virgin XL i got less than that and sometimes less than 0.1 Meg!!!! during daily peak times. I have no such problems with ADSL2+, i.e Be.

I dont know how well Mr Love Monkey connects using the USB Wireless Broadband modem, but it has been mentioned on other forums that its not much better than dial up unless U have a wacking big 3g signal, and with the 3 network its not always possible even in MANCHESTER, considering its a big city. Wouldnt like to guess speeds of it in areas like Holmfirth or Aberdeen.....

Could just be that lyric from that song by "Evanescence" called "Bring me to life".
You never know...
