Thumbs down Leaving Virgin Media BB any advice on any good ADSL?

i am leaving virgin media after being only 2 months in, in a 12 month contract. i already reordered my BT line. which will come on wednersday

1) do u think i will have to fight my way through cancling a 12 month contract?
my reasons is
i bought the service coz i thought i was getting a 20mb service, and even their advert said it dont matter how long u live away from the exchange its not like adsl.
i am getting no more than 2 meg on good times and no more than 900kb in bad times
i call CS up every week paying 25p per min + connection charge
and they have sent over 3 engineers over the past 2 months.
the engineers r fed up too due to the call out coz they cant do any thing too

and CS will not accept they can not diliver what they sell.

2) will i need to pay the extra 10 months, coz thats unfair i pay £37 and 10 months will mean £370 to get a 1mb braodband for 10 months

3) i am going with ADSL but i dont know which yet, i think ppl have good reviews on Be There braodband, so i am thinging of going there. any other advice on which ADSL are good, i am looking for unlimited download

thanx

Re: Leaving Virgin Media BB any advice on any good ADSL?

Be There is very good I heard, but its not in my areas yet.... so I got Tiscali, 8mb, only got it a few days ago, so far so good, although my BT line is "up to" 5.5 mb, I am getting over 6mb day or night, weekdays and week end. I also use Tiscali in my office, that is also ok. But there are people who do not think much of Tiscali.

VM has offered to upgrade my 4mb to 20mb, I thought I give it a try anyway, if it performs anything like what you guys on this forum, I will cancel it straight away.
