Well FIOS is limited in its roll out at present and well a synchronous technology.
Cablevision offer a 30Mb download speed alongside a 3Mb upload. I'm on the 20/2 and really upload is not a noticable problem on that. 2Gb of photos onto shutterfly takes 20 minutes. I think the shutterfly servers restrict that.

That is disingenious wording. Comparing the upload on a poor quality ADSL line with their line vs comparing their upload to the competitions 3Mb on Cable.
I see nobody has pointed out that these are Fibre Optic lines...
Apologies, sitting over here it is a bit of a given that FiOS is Fibre, that and the FibreOpticSystem or whatever the acronym is about and the advertising about the speed of light and three different colour frequencies or something.
The other side of the pond is not subjected to the same level of FiOS advertising.
