problem with voyager 105

just re-set up XP Home on a friends pc and his broadband modem is bt voyager 105.
when i got to install, it starts and says error loading newdev.dll and i must have admin privelages to run this but when i run as administrator by right clicking on the install file, it shows no password for administrator or user because i havent entered any passwords for users & won't run with a blank password

how can i solve this?
can i log on as admin from the log on screen and with no password since none was set up and install bt that way? or do i need to install an admin password to that account, log back in as USER and then try to install the modem.

help!

Re: problem with voyager 105

I think you've covered all the options there as to possibilites of how to solve the problem.

Personally, I'd log in as the administrator and run the install from there.

Nice to see you answered his question!

If no password has been set up on the administrator account then you should be able to log in.
