1&1 E-mail delayed
Anyone having problems with e-mail being very delayed on 1&1 POP servers?
Have done some tests, and I know of e-mails sent (yes, I know it could be other providers), and delays are several hours.
Was like this last night, OK again this morning, delayed again tonight. never been a problem before.
Have e-mailed tech support but won't hold my breath!
Cheers

Automated reply received from 1&1 which states
"Unfortunately we are currently experiencing email delays due to a technical fault within our mail servers.
No emails will be lost during this period and we are hoping to have normal services restored as soon as possible."
May be useful to anyone else reading who uses 1&1.

Re: 1&1 E-mail delayed
Thanks for the info. I don't think I'm affected, I use 1&1 email-forwarding to my ntl account.

Re: 1&1 E-mail delayed
I got a few emails this morning then is stopped around 10am and was waiting for 2 or 3 which have only just come through.
I have a full mailbox setup on there and the ones I sent went but took an age to come through.
Does anyone have a link to the 1and1 service status if there is any?
Cheers

Re: 1&1 E-mail delayed
Still major delays for me. I have contacted the journalist who did the story at The Register's site, will update as soon as I hear anything.

Re: 1&1 E-mail delayed
Got this from their Tech Support at 05.08 this morning:
Thank you for contacting us.
Unfortunately, we experienced email delays within the last few days due to a technical fault within our mail servers.
No emails were lost during this period. All incoming emails were still received on the server but they were not delivered immediately to their destination mailboxes. They were instead stored and queued for later delivery.
As of today, the pop/imap mailservers are now working properly, however the queue is still being cleared.
This means that all previously queued emails are now being delivered to their destination mailboxes on a first-in, first out basis.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this issue had caused. Thank you for bearing with us.
