Talktalk have no idea

When they try to sell me there broadband?

Just had a guy ring our house and my partner picked up the phone. It was TalkTalk. My partner said we are not interested twice before she gave me the phone.

This is how the convo went. (TT is the Talktalk guy)

Quote:
Me: Hello is this TalkTalk for The home or mobile?
TT: Home
Me: Ah well I have Sky talk so I am ok thanks.
TT: So you pay Line rental on top?
Me: Yes
TT: How much do you pay for your internet?
Me: £24
TT: So you pay £41 for your line rental, phone package and internet?
Me: Yup
TT: What if we could offer all 3 for £20?
Me: What speed internet do you offer?
TT: Up to 8mb
Me: Well I am currently connected at 19mb
TT: Who is that with?
Me: Be Unlimited
TT: I have never heard of 19mb
Me: They actually advertise up to 24mb
TT: I never heard of them.
Me: Well they use a technology called ADSL2+ same as Bulldog and Sky Broadband do.
TT: So even if we could offer you up to 8mb and a line and calls for half price would you be interested?
Me: No
TT: Ok goodbye

Ok so if companies are getting the staff to sell a product why not give a bit of basic training on the technologies the net uses?

He had never heard of Bulldog, Be unlimited or ADSL2+

And they are only trained on their own service so if they have never used ADSL2+ or never happened across it in an article etc they would not know about it.
