Quick installation question

Hi,

I currently take broadband with Virgin and I'm considering adding TV to my package too.

The set is in the same room as my router, which is connected to an old NTL wall box using 1 of its 2 inputs. My question is, can they use this same wall mount to run the cable needed for the TV?

Dan.

Re: Quick installation question

Yes they can, they will just add a splitter to your existing cable. The other 'input' on the wall box is probsbly for the old discontinued FM feed.

Re: Quick installation question

Cheers. And splitting it will not reduce the quality of either connection in any way?

They can ajust the signal levels so that the quality is maintained.

Can't always, in areas with outs rather than cabinets, sometimes there is only one line tap and therefore only one level of attenuation.

Weak signals in that instance can only be rectified by either,

Networks swapping the tap for a less attenuated one as in the case of mine I think last year, installing a thicker cable, or installing a powered splitter which vm call a hdu

Re: Quick installation question

yes thicker cable is RG11 opposed to the thinner RG6, and as stated if you multiple outlets an HDU will be used.
