Connecting Flats to the same Vigin Media box

I live in a house that has been converted into flats. If one flat already has Virgin Media installed and another flat in the house gets Virgin will a new external box for the cables have to be put on the building or will it be able to be connected to the existing box

thanks for helping

Yes. The drop cable that is pulled to your flat only has a certain number of connections,Telco normally has 2x phonelines (one for use & one spare or two seperate lines) & the Catv size used (RG6/7 or 11) is dependant on the distance from the street cab to the house & number of services (If someone has 2 TV & BBand then you may pull a RG7 whereas if it's only 1 TV & BBand then you may pull an RG6)
If your feed is used & your phoneline goes faulty & the installers used your drop cable, then you have no spare pair for the phoneline if the faulty pair cant be fixed.Same as the Catv but in this case an RG6 which may be capable of allowing enough signal to run your TV & BBand. But if you add another TV & BBand to the mix,it may not be capable of providing the signal strength required to run all the services.
However, say his cable went fauty,I could use your cable to provide TEMPORARY service to his flat until the faulty drop is re-pulled,but I would have to ask your OK first.
Hope this helps,
Spike
