Virgin CM boxes

Hi Guys

I have had my CM box for years so am a bit out of date. My Dad is getting Virgin BB in a few weeks - anybody know what Virgin are supplying by way of CM boxes at the mo and do they still have a standard Cat5 ethernet connection?

Location West Mids if that make a difference.

Re: Virgin CM boxes

I`ve read on an "Underground" forum they are starting to supply a "256" modem which is Docsis 3 compatible..

From Underground Forum:-

"vm will be introducing the ambit 256 March/April

to take the new 50mb service

You cant ***** it the same way as the 250/255 as it wont let you **.

There is nothing on the underside of the board except the normal tracks.

It has no **** ***** to ******

so what now ?"

I`ve edited the dodgy stuff

Re: Virgin CM boxes

Ambit 256 is the latest modem being sent out, and it is 50mg compatible. All the latest VM cable modems have only an RJ45/ethernet connection, not usb as usb only supports up to 5mg bb.
But for 20mg connection, ntlhome 200, ambit 250, 255, and 256 are all ok.
