Cowboy Installation

Look at the shoddy installation from Virgin's installers...you couldn't make it up.
This happened on Tuesday 4.9.07. as yet NO contact from them to correct the work.
Keep watching for an update.

Blimey! Have you rung VM? As they won't know their contractors have done a shoddy job unless you tell them.

Re: Cowboy Installation

Complained while "installers" were here, to them and to VM.
I have had at least 6 conversation with various VM staff, on my 'phone bill. VM tell me someone will come out but as yet nothing.

Re: Cowboy Installation

When you call them up it might be worth mentioning the health and safety aspect of that install. That cable is just asking for someone to trip over it and sue the installing contractor!

I seem to remember from previous threads that contractors are pretty hot on their own health and safety rights - it might be time to mention yours.

Re: Cowboy Installation

Health & Safety is a very good idea - why didn't I think of that during my numerous 'phone calls. Thanks

Re: Cowboy Installation

OMG

That is what you get when you pay peanuts and then give them more work than they can handle in a day. The finger of blame is pointed at both Virgin and the Contractors.

Installation was always better when it was done by in house engineers with the correct amount of work per day and tools that were issued to each man not to each vehicle.

Re: Cowboy Installation

Let me get this straight Muggle. You think the best thing would be for the company to sit down and work out what it needs to do a good quality job over and over?

Aren't there rules against that sort of thing?

Re: Cowboy Installation

I don't know there are some customers that will complain about anything. I think the options are:

1 The installation crew were leaving that Friday
2 they had gone back to get some skyhooks
3 you asked for more cable to be left
4 VM were making a film “How not to install VM DTV
5 you’re a General Area Manager for SKY

6 you wanted some place to hang your xmas lights

So how did they get the cable from the road to your house? I hope you get it sorted. I would love to ear the excuse they have for this bad install. VM must have run out of monky food.
