TV installation?

Hi all,
I have broadband & phone with VirginMedia and am thinking of getting the additional TV service before we redecorate the lounge. Am I right in thinking the broadband and TV services use the same socket? If so, things might get complicated due to the locations: the junction box (as per usual) is outside on the ground floor, with the two broadband and phone cables running along the wall up to the second bedroom (my office).

For obvious reasons we'd want the cable TV socket to be in the lounge.

How will the installers manage this? Can they just take/split a cable directly from the junction box, drill through the wall and put the TV socket there? Or would they have to use the socket up in the bedroom and run a 3rd cable all the way back along the outside wall and then drill through?

Any advice welcome!

Re: TV installation?

As long as the signal strength is good enough, they can split the cable at the omni box and take it straight through the wall into your lounge...
