Setting V+ Remote To Control Sound On Tv

Having followed the instructions in the manual for the v+ box to the letter, I can not get the remote control to work the sound on my sharp LC-42XD1E tv.I Phoned Virgin Media and they said it can be done manualy and will send an engineer to me to sort it out, seems a bit drastic just to programe the remote. Any one got any sugestions how to solve this problem.John4089

I was informed by the engineer that it does not work for Samsung HD TV. He entered the codes but with no luck. As others are experiencing the same problem the fault maybe in the V+ remote?

HI thanks, but I have already tried every thing on the thread you posted, sorry to say none of them worked.Had a Virgin engineer call yesterday to try and sort out the problem, he was usless I had to show him how to put the three codes that Virgin supplied into the remote,do they work he said,if they did I replied. you would not be here would you? He then made a phone call to his superviser, after which he told me sorry if the three codes we have for Sharp dont work we cant help you,customer servies are wrong you can not program the remote manualy,the codes come from sharp and it appears we dont have one for your model TV yet,he then left. I phoned Sharp u.k. and they said codes for Virgin remotes was sent direct to Virgin from Japan and not given out to individual people, so they was no use. I could ring japan if only i could speak the lingo.So if any one has any suggestions or thoughts on this problem please let me know. John4089

Had my V+ box installed a few days ago and I thought I had a faulty handset until I read this thread. I have a Sony Bravia and have been stumped why the volume control on the remote did not work. Really infuriating if it cannot be resolved. I thought the remote would just adjust the volume output of the V+ unit, not the telly.

Have read more on this forum and have worked it out. By pressing and holding the volume up button and then pressing the Mute button the LED light on the remote will blnk twice. Enter your TV makes code (mine is 533, so entered 0533) and hey presto the volume works. Got my code from http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/at...0&d=1163911610

Hi thanks but have done as you say already with codes listed for sharp, 0121 0064 and 0065 none work.Thanks any way, if you or any one has any other idears let me know. John4089

Hi thanks for the codes sorry to say none worked,maybe because the Sharp TV I have, model Aquos LC-42XD1E has only just come out and no one has the code yet.Thanks any way, if any one has any idea what the code is, or any thing else I could try please let me know.John4089

Hey guess what, found a web site through Google, called universal-remote.net/sharp this site gave me three codes for the Virgin Media V+box which is made by Scientific Atlanta. 09, 10, 11, just put 00 in front of each code and 0009 worked a treat.Thanks to every one who tried to help,maybe this web site can help others with the same problem just go to www.universal-remote.net/ then put in your make of TV. and you should find the codes.Good luck to any one else who has this problem,hope this helps. Hi Baskville the only code i know for LG TV is 0070 I hope this works for you,please let me know if it does.By the way the V+Box is made by Scientific Atlanta if that helps.John4089
